Hafu boom in Japan

This is the pages from Japanese magazine which is introducing how to have hafu（ハーフ） eyes. Hafu（ハーフ）is what is called in Japan for the Japanese mixed race people. In Japan, Japanese mixed race people is getting really popular. One of the celebrity in Japan, Suzannu, even produced the makeup, like how to get the hafu faces and she produced eye shadow, lip gloss, and blush with the introduction of how to makeup. In Japanese TV, there are many celebrities who are half Japanese and half from different country. For example, Becky(British,Japanese), Wentz Eiji(German-American,Japanese) Kimura Kaela(British,Japanese), Tsuchiya Anna(Russian-American,Japanese), Arashiro Beni(American,Japanese), Takigawa Crystel(Frence,Japanese), Hitoto Yo(Taiwanese, Japanese), Rinka(Canadian,Japanese) and so on and on and on!lol

It is just so popular! and so many magazines are publishing their own tips for the hafu makeups and as me, one of the hafu, I feel it's just crazy!

I mean maybe people can change it with some makeup tips, but I don't think they can have it exactly similar eye shapes or nose or lip shapes as me or those Japanese hafu celebrities. well, I just can't help thinking that this is just one of the businesses. Everything that is popular or famous, I think that is just a new business that every company is tring to do. but anyways, I think it is interesting! lolll

Ideal

Recently, I'm researching about Japan, like how Japanese dipict Gaijin(foreigner or outsider) in mass media or how Japanese is trying to be more pretty(using whitening cream,making eyes bigger, dying one's hair, fake eye-lashes etc).This is actually part of my sociology project that I'm doing for my class.

Well, I found that mixed race people(hafu) is really becoming popular in Japan! One time, Vivi magazine published their new issue with only using hafu models(1st pic). In that cover page, 4 girls are half Americans(3) and Canadian and there are no hafu people with black. I don't know well about Japanese TV recently because I don't watch it that much...but I know that Aoyama Teruma and Jero(quarter) are mixed with blacks. Both of them are famous with their music:)

oh and I don't know why, but these days, Nicole Richie is really popular between Japanese girls. I always see Nicole on several magazine's cover page in convenience store.haha Many young age girls say that they get the fashion idea from Nicole's fashion and many of them say their favorite hollywood celeb is Nicole Richie! I don't know what is happening here...but Nicole Richie is turning to a really good business here!hahaaa

3rd picture is the cover page of "Ageha" magazine. well, as you can see, there are no models with black hair and they are way too far from Japanese looking. They color their hair to blonde or brown and they always introduce makeups which can make one's eyes bigger. They also look really white and there are no models who are single eye lid. I saw most of the magazine's cover, but I really couldn't find any model with single eye lid-everyone has double eye lid. I'm still on my way to research more of this but I have found one Japanese quote that says "Even you have problems in your face, if you are white, that whiteness will cover your problems" (色の白いは七難かくす). I guess there is a norm of white=beautiful in Japan for really looooong time!

TOKYO 2009 ASIAN YOUTH PARA GAMES

So, on September 10th to 13th, there was a Para Games(Asian Youth Para Games) in Tokyo.

My half country, Iraq also came to Tokyo and had a competitions! Team Iraq got many medals! yay!

I had a chance to meet those sports player on Monday and it was amazing!

Everyone seems like my age and everyone was so nice and active:D

I just couldn't help myself and cried a lot because I was so proud of them and when I thought that there are so many other people who are disabled in Iraq by accident or because of the war, it just made me really sad.

I just thought that I would do anything for those people in Iraq!

So...because I cried so hard, (well, I kinda become depressed sometimes that I miss Egypt and Iraq very very much) so everyone asked my mom why I was crying which was kinda embarrasing.LOL

I'm 19 years old and will be 20 very soon and I still cry for very tiny things.

Everyone came to take picture with me and I was just pleasure!

I would definitely go to Iraq some day and see my relatives and those kids and many other friends!

and...I soooooo can't wait for that day to come!

Forever 21

Hello there!

Long Long LOOOOOONG time since I posted the last one.

I was been busy for my school because I get TONS of homework! anyhow, now is my spring holiday so I'm free from it! ahhhahhaaaa!

So, in Japan, since H&M came to Harajuku, and in other place, (I heard that they are making in Shibuya too) Finally, Forever 21 came! yay!

Compared to H&M and Zara or any other cloth shops, Forever 21 is much cheaper and they have many clothes in different colors! so, I tried to go there and it was sooooo crowded! It was about 7 oclock at night so it was much better than the afternoon time, I could enter the shop like 15 minutes. BUTTTT! here is the problem, I CANNOT SEE THE CLOTH BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE. ahaaahaaahaa! there were so many people that you can't concentrate on shopping but to avoid people! I just bought one cloth, but everyone else were buying TONS of cloth! Moreover, because people bought so many clothes, I had to wait for the cashier about 10-15 minutes!  wtf! haha but anyways, it was nice to see all floors and bought something. I really want to go there again to shop but I think I will wait until the time when Japan going to make another Forever 21 shop because people who come to Harajuku might be decrease! haha but anyways, it was nice!

Long time no posting!

My college started and I'm spending my days very busy here...

I get a lot of homework and I'm working hard on.

Since my college have started, I really didn't have a time to go out with my friends or hang out.

Because I'm so busy, I really miss all of my friends.

I'm really focusing on my school work to get a good grades and working on so hard for myself and also for my teacher:)

I hate to make somebody dissapointing:(

anyways, this weekend is also busy day as usual but I'm going to meet my friends from junior high!

I'm so exciting to meet her! Though I only have like 3 or 4 hours to hang out with her because of my essay!:(

but even 3 or 4 hours... if I can see her, it's okayy:D

I wish I could see my friends in overseas too...

I really miss them a lot:(

These days I haven't talk to my friends who is in USA, NZ, and UK...

but I got letter from 2 of them and I haven't replied yet:(

I'm sorry Mr.Blogger(...LOL) I haven't been posting blog for a long time.

I've been busy these days...

My college haven't been started but I'm learning Arabic now!

I already made many friends and it's really fun to study with them!

I don't know each of my friends that much but chatting with them is fun!

the class is getting harder and harder but I'm not going to giving up on this;)

I have to study hard because it's one of my mother tongue!

However, there's one mean teacher and I hate that teacher! LOL

anyways he's not my teacher (he's just taking care of computers) so I'm okay I guess:)

oh I got sick and I have to go to hospital tomorrow!

I have already went to one hospital which is 15minutes far from my house, but I got wrong medicine and it just don't work at all!

so I'll go to different hospital which is 25minutes far from my house!

hospitals around my house sucks! LOL

no good hospitals around!

GRADUATION

on 1st March, I graduated from my high school!

OMG, I cried too much!(I had headache from crying a lot! LOL)

I felt so sad that even all of my friends says "hey Gina, we can see each other any time" but there is no garantee that we can see each other again!

half of my class mates are going to overseas and my BFF,Rina will going to overseas this month's 31th. (I'm sure I really going to miss her...)

maybe this month, Rina is really busy packing up her stuff and I'm also busy of studying Arabic this month because I have a exam:(

I promised Rina that I'll go to USA within two/four years to see her there...

but till I see her, I'll miss her a lot:'(

it's not only Rina's cases...other half of my classmates too...

I hate saying good bye or hear "LAST TIME"...

I hope I can see each of my friends before they go to overseas;)

2 days left before the graduation of my high school.

(actually 4 days but tomorrow and day after tomorrow,I have some classes)

I don't want to think about graduation...

I'm trying to think about other things but it's only 2days classes are left!

Tomorrow and day after tomorrow, there are going to be like a partyy!

It's gonna be fun I hope but I can't stop thinking about saying good bye to my friends and teachers.

I have like 2 months break because my university going to be started from May,so I'll be in my high school from April again to have some English classes.

I know I can see my teachers or my friends again at April but I just hate like this ceremony:(

VALENTINES DAY!

Today is VALENTINE'S DAYY!

yayy!

I didn't have school today and I was so tired because I went to the Disney Sea on 12th.

It was the first time to go to Disney sea and my friends took me there and had fun a lot!XD

it was really fun but sooooo cold!

It was a rainy day but we were luckyy!

'cause there were not no much people!

we've get to the many kinds of vehicle without waiting!:)

it was so cool! because in normal day, we have to wait maybe 30minutes to 1 hours.

if that vehicle is really popular and people really love then we have to wait for 2 hours!

wowww! haha

but I had a lot of fun anyways;)

today's a Valentine's day but for me, the valentine's day was no difference with normal days:p

I woke up at 2:00pm! (late:p)

and watched disney channel and doing computer!

it's really same as yesterday and maybe tomorrow (will be same)

but I'll going to give chocolate to my friends at school tomorrow:D

I got lots of homework this week but yesterday and the day before yesterday, I was just playing on my computer like watching youtube or checking my e-mail. and today! is a holiday in Japan, but...I don't think I can finish it within today:P

on the weekend or long long holiday like summer vacation, I don't know why but I don't go out so much and be lazyy!!!

that's why I can't finish it today also! hehe

SCHOOL

My school have started from yesterday!

I was so exciting to meet my friends:)

Yesterday, I had three English class and one modern Japanese class.

My modern Japanese classes was a last class for this year:(

but...mm.....I was bored! hehe

add today, I had three English classes like yesterday and one World Histry class.

Today was really fun!

I really enjoyed talking(making jokes) with my friends;D

oh...the bad things is I gor lots of homework...

I got a book which is "Gathering Blue" from Lois Lowry.

I have to read this book until 66 pages and have to do work sheet.

till this morning, I haven't read even 1page! (I got this book 2months ago:p oh, god!)

It takes about 2hours when I go and come back from the school.

within 2hours, I read about 30pages!

and....the due day of my homework is next week so I hope I can finish reading my book this week and work on my paper this weekend!

By the way, Gathering Blue is little bit difficult for me.

I mean I do understand the story but sometimes there are so many words that I don't know.

but anyways, as a story, this book is really interesting;)

I really enjoyed reading this book today!

Because I only have four hours a day, me and my classmates don't bring own lunch.

my school finish at 1:00...

and till I go back to home, it is about 2:30!

while I'm on the way to home, I don't eat nothing because I eat with my mom.

I usually get hungry at 12:00 but I don't have something to eat.

so till I go home, I'm all the way, STARVINGGG!!!!!!! so hungry!

anyways, had a lot of fun today too!

hope tomorrow will be more great day!

today's a Christmas! actually its yesterday:p

the day before yesterday, the christmas eve, I went to my friends' house with my mother.

we were invited to the dinner so we went there:)

my friends who are friends since we' were born, gave me a little gift which was a body butter and lip gloss!

I was really happy;)

my friends Sara who is 15years old and Yuichiro who is 18years old and I talk a lot of things!

we are all going to apply for our universities or high school and we've talked about schools!

past three years, I've learned about overseas at my school because I belong to the study abroad class.

and recently, I don't know about Japan actually...

but for Sara and Yuichiro, they' knows about Japan a lot.

(actually I do know about Japan, but these days, I just forgot most of them because I didn't learn it that deepth this three years)

so...sometimes I did made a mistake about the location of Japanese university.

and each time I made a mistake, my friends are like "Whattt??" and I was soooo upset about that!

but on the other hand, they don't know nothing about univeristy in overseas so in that case, I look superior than others:p hehe

anyways, I was little bit disappointed about myself...

but I had a great time with them!

we're going to see each other again this month!

we're going to COSTCO which is really exciting:D

ASHINAGA

ASHINAGA is an organization which is helping orphans.

The First picture is the logo of ASHINAGA:)

Second picture is a drawing by one orphan, Kacchan.

He lost his father and sister by the earthquake, HANSHIN-AWAJI-DAISHINSAI.

He drew the rainbow black because of the shock that he lost his father and sister.

At this big earthquake, many children lost their family.

so, ASHINAGA made a system like a dormitory which orphans can live.

This dormitory is only for the orphans and ASHINAGA supporting them.

ASHINAGA named this dormitory, "KOBE RAIBOW HOUSE" (third pic).

The reason why they put the name, "rainbow" is becasue of the drawing of Kacchan.

They wished black rainbow will be to the colorful rainbow:)

This rainbow house was made in Tokyo also!

She came to Japan and studied hard...
